The first recorded thesis was dated 1928, though all theses prior to 1941 were lost during the occupation of WWII. HKUTO includes works in the arts, humanities, education and the social, medical and natural sciences. Many of them deal entirely with or focus on subjects relating to Hong Kong. The collection is primarily in English, with some in English and Chinese, and others in Chinese only. Almost all HKU theses are included in HKUTO. Missing ones might be located in HKU departmental libraries. HKUTO now includes 14,481 fulltext electronic theses.

Description: Collection of a wide range of Chinese newspapers from 2007 till now. Bibliographic data are searchable for the whole collection. The full text of the articles is avaible for the following five titles: 解放日报, 东方早报, 北京晨报, 中华合作时报, 中国文物报.
The database allows users not only to search for contents of articles, but also to browse and read original newspapers online.
The latest edition of each newspaper is not available through the database. The electronic version of today's newspapers can be searched here.
Registered CrossAsia users who want to take advantage of the functions provided by the Apabi Reader should use the terminal server connection to China newspapers. These are comprised of the Fuyin baokan ziliao "suoyin" zonghui which is a selected index to academic journal articles from 3000+ periodicals in Chinese for the years 1978-2001; the second set is the Fuyin baokan ziliao quanwen shuju which is a full-text database set for a subset of the same collection for the years 1995+. You can also search the index and the full text database at the same time through the Web database.

Prange Collection kept at the University of Maryland, ranging from the covers, indexes, authors' names, titles and subtitles of articles and theses, to reference numbers, category items, information on censorship and publishers as well as the places and dates of publication. The collection is a valuable repository of media, consisting of magazines, newspapers and books published in Japan　during the post-war occupation period from 1945 to 1949. Cited description: This electronic database, published by the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Digital Heritage Publishing Ltd., contains on at least 183 CD-ROMs the complete contents, in full text and image, of the 3460+ titles of the Wenyuange edition of the Siku quanshu (1782) plus a few other useful tools. The total content is a staggering 800 million characters, and is arranged under almost 2 million piece titles. Some of the titles contained in the Si ku quan shu are themselves large compilations, such as the QuanTangshi, Zizhi tongjian, XuZi zhi tongjian changbian, Wenxuan, Peiwen yunfu, Taiping yulan, the 25 Histories. One should realize, however, that the Siku quanshu editions are not always the best ones available, nor are they always complete: as is well known, its compilation involved censorship. The Electronic Siku quanshu ("e-SKQS") is useful not only for searching, but also for studying: it has linked dictionaries.

In addition, the database supplies with punctuated traditional and simplified version, with fine illustrations.
Description: Newest features of Guoxue baodian are that results are not only shown in simplified but also in traditional Chinese. Search is now also possible in traditional characters. Additionally, the database is searchable by dynasties and different search parameters can be combined (keyword / dynasty e.g.). An associative search function for subject headings is also available. 1.000 titles have been added to the database, and as a new part of Guoxoe baodian a database of more than 50.000 poems of all epochs has been added.
