中国人民政治协商会议资料库 = Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Document Database
Description: The CPPCC Database is a collection of archives and documents of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), including resolutions and statements, pictures, press conferences, important commentaries, representatives lists, agendas, session updates, reports, leaders'; activities, selected proposals and suggestions from representatives, news reports, video reports, etc. The database starts with the first meeting of the first conference in 1949 and also includes the most recent one. The ressource is updated quarterly or in a real time manner.
Searches may be confined to special conference sections, such as the name lists of the participants (组成名单). To confine searches for example to photographs you will have enter 图片报道*王 into the 全文检索 slot to find any 王 named in the caption of a photograph in this ressource.

1. Leaders’ Activities (领导人活动) listing the members of the Standing Committees of the Political Bureau from the 15th CPC Central Committee onwards, providing portraits, a short biography and collecting published reports of their activities, speeches etc. The material often derives from the People's daily.
2. Communist Party of China (CPC) Archives and Important Documents (中共历次全会文献信息) starting from the 1. Communist Party's National Congress in 1921 up to the most recent one. The different pleanry sessions and sections may be searched separetely. By choosing 图片报道 from the pull down menue it is possible to confine ones search to the captions of a photograph.
3. Documents of the Communist Party of China (CPC) National Congress (中国共产党重要文献) containing the collected writings of Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Ren Bishi, Deng Xiaoping and Chen Yunwen, the 中国共产党重要文件选集 in 18 vol. and the 建国以来重要文献选编 in 20 vol., as well as the document collections that are published since the 1980ies (the 新时期) by the 中央文献研究室.
4. Major Events and Important Figures of Communist Party of China (中国共产党重要事件、人物) containing photographs and short biographies of leaders and important members of the CPC as well main as a year by year history of the CPC from 1921 up to 1939 and a selection of 20 main incidents in the history of the party.
The database is updated monthly.

From late 2009 on the journal - or excerpts from the journal - also appears in English. The database gives access to the searchable full text of the English edition. PDF for download are provided.
For the original Chinese publication of Qiushi please consult the database "Chinese Academic Journals", where access to the complete set of issues back to 1994 is provided. To read older issues or even the predecessor of Qiushi namely Hongqi 红旗, CrossAsia resp. the East Asia Department of the Berlin State Library currently can only offer "paper". Hongqi (Zsn 11972) was started in 1958 and appeared until 1988 when the name was changed to Qiushi (Zsn 73611).
The search slot of the database provides selection buttons for article, image, and news. "News" searches extracts from Xinhua (starting 2011.9) and actually were not published in Qiushi; "image" search returns articles with paragraphs, where the search term and also have a picture appears. Thus the picture and the search term are in some cases not directly connected; "article" searches the full text content of the Qiushi issues 2009 to the present.
