A special viewer is needed so CrossAsia provides access via a Citrix-connection where the viewer is already installed. To enter the subscribed version of the database please click "授權使用" and enter one of the login and passwords given at the entry page. You also have to enter the random number shown in blue.
The database allows simple and advanced searches. In the latter you may also select the document's language. Hits lists can be filtered by time, type of document, issuing authority, issuing person and document language.
Clicking a
sequence number in your hit list will open the detailed view of the documents metadata, by clicking the
document icon of these metadata a file is downloaded and shown in the database viewer. To return to the metadata close the viewer by clicking "結束離開"; to further return to the hit list click "回簡目顯示" in the upper left corner of the screen.
The metadata of a document may also contain where and in what printed collection of archive materials the respective document is reproduced (mostly in facsimile). Description: Official web site of the Bank of Mongolia. As the Central Bank, the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) ensures the stability of the national currency – Togrog. Within this main objective, the BoM promotes balanced and sustained development of the national economy, through maintaining the stability of money, financial markets, and the banking system. In order to implement its objectives, the BoM conducts activities such as issuing currencies in circulation, formulation and implementation of monetary policy, acting as the Government’s fiscal intermediary, supervision of banking activities, organization of inter-bank payments and settlements, management of the official foreign exchange reserves.
Policy- making body
The supreme policy-making body of the BoM is the Board of Directors. The current Board of Directors consists of the Governor of the Central Bank who is Chairman, the First Deputy Governor, Deputy Governor, 9 directors and 2 non-voting members.
Frequency of meeting
The Board of Directors has regularly scheduled meetings every Thursday once a week to assess underlying economic developments, monitor progress toward achieving its monetary policy objectives, and formulate policy for the period ahead.
Degree of independence
The BoM is operationally independent from the Government though the Parliament of Mongolia monitors whether the Bank’s activities are consistent with the legislation. However, neither the Government, nor the Parliament is to interfere in activities relating to the implementation of State monetary policy by the BoM. The independence of the BoM is empowered under the Law on Central bank approved in 1996. The Governor of the BoM may attend Cabinet meetings and consult on issues relating the BoM and banking activities.
Release of Policy Information
Information on monetary policy is released in the form of press releases and statements. Monetary and financial statistics can be found in monthly bulletins and annual reports. Trade and Development Bank (TDB), the oldest and the largest corporate bank in Mongolia, successfully issued USD 300 million senior unsecured notes listed at Singapore Stock Exchange on 13 September 2012. This was the fourth time that TDB tapped the international bond markets, after two successful senior unsecured deals in 2007 and 2010, respectively, and a subordinated notes issuance in 2010. In fact, TDB is the first ever Mongolian bank to issue bonds and the only Mongolian repeat bond issuer. These successful bond issues not only affirm the market confidence in TDB’s strategy, financial strength and management, but also affirm TDB’s standing in the international markets.
Furthermore one of the most important highlight was Trade and Development Bank of Mongolia (TDB) signed an investment agreement with The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. (Goldman Sachs), a leading global financial services firm. Goldman Sachs has acquired a 4.8 percent stake in TDB in January 2012. The investment assists TDB in growing its business to meet the expected increased needs of its clients as Mongolia’s economy continues a period of strong economic growth.
In October of 2012, TDB announced the official launch of Bloomberg TV Mongolia in partnership with Bloomberg International. Corporate banking division
TDB is the largest corporate lender in Mongolia with 29.5% corporate lending market share, in the end of 2012. TDB provides various corporate banking services including corporate lending, trade financing, syndicated lending and deposit taking. At the end of December 2012, TDB’s corporate loan reached MNT 972.2 billion and SME loan amount MNT 86.0 billion.
International Banking Department
The Bank has direct correspondent relationships with more than 150 foreign banks and financial institutions, such as American Express Bank, HSBC Bank N.A, Citibank N.A, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ ltd, Commerzbank AG, Credit Suisse, ING N.A, and manages its international transactions through 41 nostro accounts held with those 30 banks. By the end of December 2012, the TDB has closely collaborated with 34 major Banks and Financial institutions on trade finance loans. TDB has on-lending programs from the Asian Development bank, KFW and JICA to provide long-term financing to SME and private sector clients, with credit lines amounting to USD11.0 mln, EUR4.3 mln and USD62 mln respectively, and tenors up to 10 years. The Bank had successfully arranged USD 171.2 million and MNT 58 billion syndicated loan facilities with reputable international financial institutions from the year of 2005 to 2011. Retail banking division
TDB believes in investing in state-of-the-art technology to provide a complete range of value-added personal banking products and services to customers. The Bank introduced for the first time in Mongolia an internet banking service with a 2-step authentication system that is connected to the SWIFT network, and an SMS banking service that is compatible with both GSM and CDMA providers. The bank is determined to maintain its lead position in card-related products by improving existing features of cards and introducing new products. A Loyalty card program for its rapidly developing cardholder client base has been launched to deliver a value-added financial service. TDB is the only bank that allows its clients to accept transactions from all the cards of the world's leading financial institutions, such as Visa, Master card, JCB and UnionPay. Treasury division
TDB was the first Mongolian bank to begin treasury activities on the international foreign exchange and money markets and has the longest experience in treasury banking in Mongolia. The Bank also plays a role in supplying market information and expert analysis on the economic situation, monetary policy and currency demand and supply. The Bank has been active in the commercial gold trading business since it received the first commercial gold trading license from the Bank of Mongolia in January 2000 and is one of the leading participants in the market. The Bank was also the first commercial bank in Mongolia to buy and sell gold for export. The Bank also maintains close relationships with mining companies providing them credit transactions, gold trading and international settlement services.
