Information on using online databases via Citrix-Terminal-Services

Some databases provided by CrossAsia need a secure connection to a closed environment. To offer these databases to our users, we have to publish them on a Citrix Terminal Server. The following preconditions on your side are indispensable:

  • a standard internet browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer
  • Java Runtime Environment in at least version 1.5
  • if you are behind a firewall, port 1494 must be open.

These configurations are essential for a proper functioning of the web-based Citrix applications.

Mac-Users moreover should consider that the language settings for European or Asian input of their local system or browser are not effective in the Citrix environment. To change the setting within the Citrix environment please scroll down to the right corner at the bottom of the Citrix frame. The default setting is DE for German input. Click on DE and change to the language you need. In case of Japanese please also change the input mode from A (Direct Input) to あ (Hiragana).

You may also copy your search term into the Citrix environment using the clipboard. To paste the text there use Ctrl+V.
