Terms of Use (Step 1 of 3)

Individuals (such as teachers, researchers, students etc.) affiliated to a German institution which is part of the "Blauer Leihverkehr" can register online to get access to the licenced databases provided via the Virtual Library East and Southeast Asia. For registration please complete this online form. In return you receive a PDF document per email, which you please print out and sign. Get the document stamped by your institution and send it to:

With your signature you agree to the following terms of use:

1. It is allowed to browse and read the resources online as well as to download and print out your research results and smaller parts of digitized fulltexts and articles for academic research and other individual purposes including teaching.
2. It is in general not allowed to use the resources in any kind of commercial context or to systematically download and harvest data.

After we received the signed and stamped document, we activate your account and inform you via email about your CrossAsia access. The access has to be renewed every year. Before your access time expires, we send you an email and ask for extension. Any kind of abuse of the resources of the East Asian departement of the Staatsbibliothek Berlin will immediatly lead to a disabling of your account.
