Melbourne Zen Group
Citation: The Melbourne Zen Group was founded on 21 May 1985. Seven people attended the first meeting and formed a regular group to offer each other mutual support in the practice of Zen Buddhist meditation. [...] The group does not have a resident teacher, but in 1999 formally invited Subhana Barzaghi Roshi (based in Sydney) to act as its primary visiting teacher. In 2002 we invited Susan Murphy Roshi (also based in Sydney) to share this commitment with Subhana. Subhana and Susan lead Melbourne Zen Group retreats and provide guidance and support in matters relating to group practice.

Walter Simon : a scholar-librarian and his East Asian collection
Citation: [...] Professor Walter Simon (1893-1981) was Professor of Chinese at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London from 1947 to 1960, and an eminent scholar of Chinese and other East Asian languages. The National Library of Australia acquired his collection in stages between 1970 and 1982. There are over 2000 books in Asian and Western languages reflecting Professor Simon's academic interests, in particular the Chinese, Tibetan and Manchu languages.
