Description: GeNii is Japan's National Institute of Informatics academic content portal. It incorporates several databases that can be searched together: CiNii Articles (journal articles, papers etc.), Webcat Plus (books), KAKEN ("Database of Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research" = research projects sponsored by MEXT and JSPS), NII-DBR ("Academic Research Database Repository" = specialized subject databases), JAIRO ("Japanese Institutional Repositories Online" = journal articles, thesis, dissertation, departmental bulletin paper, research paper, etc.)

There currently is also no direct link to the "full texts" of the 晚清期刊、民国时期期刊 database of the same provider resp. the ShangTu.

Further extensions are planned. The resource collects and structures all information on Chinese historical books contained in the bibliographical chapters of the Standard Histories, private and officially compiled historical bibliographies as well as current and historical library and topical catalogues. The entries can be browsed from different angles of research perspective i.e. bibliographical category (經史子集叢), kind of catalogue (歷史著錄、館藏著錄 …), time the book was composed, time of printing, kind of edition (稿本、活字本、刻本 …) and place owning a copy (中國、美國、日本 …). The information of each edition was analysed and filed into different data fields to allow complex searches (高級檢索) and advanced statistic analysis of the data (數據分析). CrossAsia License: http://erf.sbb.spk-berlin.de:80/han/BeiDaZhongguo Web版 日本近代文学館: 太陽 Description: Web版 日本近代文学館 provides a complete archive (PDF) of the journal Taiyô (太陽) which was published by Hakubunkan (博文官) from January Meiji 28 (1895) until February Shôwa 3 (1928) in 34 volumes with 531 issues. It was one of the leading general-interest magazines of the Meiji and Taishô period with articles on a large variety of topics such as politics, society, literature, science, geography, history, art, industry etc. Especially its literary column became of great influence for the promotion of the naturalist movement in Japan.
In addition the following three indexes can be searched, however the PDFs of the articles/manuscripts are not available, as they are not included in the licence:
The journal Bungei kurabu (文芸倶楽部) published by Hakubunkan (博文官) from January Meiji 28 (1895) until December Taishô 1 (1912) in 18 volumes with 284 issues. A literary journal that also comprises articles on art, fashion and customs.
The student journal Daiichi kôtô gakkô kôyûkai zasshi (第一高等学校 校友会雑誌) that was published from November Meiji 23 (1890) until June Shôwa 19 (1944) at the Daiichi kôtô gakkô in Tôkyô which contains many articles on literature and art as well as early literary works of various writers.
The archive Takita Choin kyûzô kindai sakka genkôshû (滝田樗陰旧蔵近代作家原稿集) which contains 230 literary works from the collection of Takita Choin, a former publisher of the journal Chûô kôron (中央公論). 209 of these works were later published in Chûô kôron. The biographies of the authors can be accessed.

Poster Exhibitions: The Ohara Institute owns about 2700 posters of the pre-1945 period and 1400 posters of the post-1945 period. Poster Exhibitions show some of these posters' images and English translation of texts in the "Slide Show" format.
