CrossAsia had invited for the 07./08. November 2008 to a conference in the offices of the East Asia Center at the University of Heidelberg. The event had the objective to explore and discuss new developments and opportunities in the field of information sciences and their importance for East Asian Studies.
On the first day of the conference the multiple functions of Cross Asia were presented and a selection of Chinese and Japanese licensed databases were introduced in detail. The second day was dedicated to indentify and discuss the uses of Cross Asia in teaching and research. The conference attracted more then 60 participants.
