CrossAsia-eJournals with Open Journal System (OJS)

The Specialised Information Service Asia supports the publication of Open Access e-journals in Asian Studies on the platform CrossAsia by providing the technical infrastructure.

  • The Specialised Information Service Asia provides the basic set up of the journal as well as the hosting of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) software, the technical platform for your journal.
  • The layout can be adapted to your own design, providing you – within the technical OJS framework – with your own individual journal website.
  • We provide an introduction to the OJS software as well as all its functions and workflows at Heidelberg University Library.

The open source software OJS was developed by the international Public Knowledge Project at the University of Columbia and was published under the GNU General Public License. It provides an elaborate rights management and comprises the entire editorial review process and publication workflow for the publication of an electronic journal. It covers all steps online, from handing in articles, to peer reviewing up to the publication of individual issues. OJS journal interfaces are available in several languages.

If you are interested, please contact us – even if you are still in the planning phase for your open access e-journal or if you wish to convert your existing print journal into an e-journal.
